I used to write under Rennie Rivera. I published two books under that pen name. I originally chose that pen name in honor of someone I looked to as a mother figure and in my eyes, was an adopted mom. She was my biggest cheerleader for so many years until she was sadly taken from us too soon.

But once I published my first novel, dedicated to her and all girls who grew up thinking they weren't good enough, I retired that pen name. I feel it served its purpose in honoring her. Soon I started really developing my own voice and my characters began to evolve, as well as their stories.

So, with the new journey with my characters going into 2020 I decided to take on a new pen name and retire Rennie Rivera. And this is how Ember Phoenix now E.A. Phoenix, the author, was born! I feel I can best relate to the phoenix.

I’ve always been a book nerd, reading whatever I could get my hands on. Then one day I decided to throw my hat in the ring of writing, it was the best decision I ever made. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember but never thought in a million years, I’d find the courage to publish, until 2019. With the love and support of my friends and family, I’m living my dream every day.

I have battled many trials and tribulations over the years but have always risen from the ashes of chaos, stronger and more confident. You'll find a little of me in every story you read. Whether it's in the lead heroine or the supporting role, I can relate to many of my characters.

I've found a love of the paranormal and find myself writing more in that world than any other. I want to give you characters you can relate to and/or just fall in love with because of their bravery and courage. I love the idea of magic and shapeshifting as well as dabbling in many of the lore.

I'm from Cleveland, Ohio, and have lived in many places along the east coast but currently, call Colorado home! I'm a mom to three strong demi-goddesses and bonus mom to two fierce demi-goddesses and a very energetic demi-god, who have inspired me to never give up. They’re my guiding light and motivation. I want to show them that no matter how many times you get knocked down, you can always get back up, dust yourself off, and try again. Nothing is impossible, the word itself says “I’m possible” and that’s something I strive to show.

I’m a down to earth chick who loves reading, movies, cooking, and road trip adventures. But you can go anywhere in the world just by picking up a book. It's my most favorite way to travel. Whether we're going back in time or travelling to another dimension, every book takes me to places I've never even knew existed!

I've met some amazing people, both authors, and readers along the way. I’m thankful to each and every one of them and all they’ve taught me as well as continue to teach me. I hope you can find courage and strength through my characters and stories as well as find something that not only piques your interest but leaves you thirsty for more!! Happy Reading!!
